The following are a series of personal comments and observations made by world leaders prior to and following the 9/11 catastrophe in America. The comments leave absolutely no doubt that drugs, drug monies, terrorism and 9/11 were known for decades to be interconnected and interdependent. The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States Report aka [9/11 Commission Report] sadly did not investigate, in depth, the connections between 9/11 and drug monies. The following comments speak for themselves and support our call for a Truth and Reconciliation Commission on Drugs and the Business of Drug Monies.
President Vladimir Putin (Russia)
May 7, 2000 – CNN - When President Putin came to office, he stated, “There is a worldwide terrorism problem and it is funded by drug monies.” His call for an international conference never developed.
President Jacque Chirac (France)
September 14, 2001 White House Lawn – “We must coordinate our information and trace terrorist monies. There are drug monies there.”
Paul O’Neil U.S. Secretary Treasury
September 19, 2001 Charlie Rose Show – “In the past twenty-five
years the Treasury Department has spent ¾ billion dollars on money
laundering cases. Treasury won one major case in twenty-five years.”
President George W. Bush (United States)
September 24, 2001 CNN – “Drug monies are the lifeblood of terrorist activities. If the banks around the world do business with terrorist, if they support them, protect them, or tolerate them, they will not do business with the United States.”
March 20, 2002 20/20 – “I am going to the United Nations and will call for a resolution to wage a worldwide war on the drug issue and terrorism.”
