The Honorable:
Barack Obama, President
United States of America
Sir,
Your election to the Office of the President of the United States
has filled the hearts of millions with hope and great expectations.
We congratulate you for such an incredible feat. The next step, as
you know better than anyone, is to fulfill your promises and turn
hope into reality. It is this promise of hope and great expectations
that has led us to write you about a subject that was not mentioned
during some twenty-five Presidential Debates. We speak here, sir, of
drugs and the business of drug monies.
As someone who has experienced working hand-in-hand with the most
needy of our country as well as access to classified information,
you surely know what this national scourge is doing to the very
fiber of our families, communities, schools, workplace and economy.
Worse yet, we pray you will not tolerate past government decisions
(1943-2008) that have enabled drugs to reach our seven and eight
year old children who, in time, become part of the millions charged
for drug violations - when they reach eighteen.
While it is possible for us to understand your silence during the
campaign – given the complexities surrounding the subject matter -
the campaign is over and the time to turn hope and great
expectations into reality is at-hand. We have given you the power to
launch a New Vision of America for the 21st Century that publicly
acknowledges that drugs and the business of drug monies are not just
another set of issues, but are, in fact, a massive moral imperative
that can no longer be kept in the shadows or ignored.
With all due respect, sir, there is a way out of this multifaceted
nightmare. Simply put - start with the truth, stay with the truth
and end with truth and you will find an army of concerned citizens
eager to partner with you.
We ask that you please take into account the details and
recommendations outlined in the enclosed item, Report to President
Barack Obama. It should be noted the Report is based on forty years
of sharing best ideas and practices from good folks all over the
country and from all walks of live – in and out of government.
Know that we respect you and wish only the best results for all you
do on behalf of our country, our people and our family of human
beings worldwide. God bless you, sir.
Sincerely,
Art Nicoletti
